1st day: Athens - Delphi - Kalambaka
Departure from Athens at 8:45 a.m.. Drive through the fertile plain of Beotia region, passing by the towns like Thebes, and important ancient city rival to Athens; picturesque Levadia and the hilltop village of Arachova. Arrival at Delphi, one of the most famous oracles of ancient times. Visit the the site in bucolic surroundings with a spectacular view of nearby mountains. Walk on the processional road decorated with remains of temples and treasuries and pay visit to the small museum. Rest of the day at leisure. Dinner and overnight in DELPHI. (D.)
 

2nd day: Delphi - Kalambaka - Meteora
Drive by the central Greece towns of Amphissa, Lamia and Trikala to Kalambaka, a small town situated at the foot of astonishing complex of Meteora with its gigantic rocks. Visit Meteora, among striking scenery, perched on the top of huge rocks which seem to be suspended in midair, protecting ageless Monasteries, where you can see some exquisite specimens of Byzantine art. Please cover your shoulders and knees before entering the monasteries. Dinner and overnight at the town of Kalambaka (B.D)

3rd day: Kalambaca - Dion - Thessaloniki
Depart from Kalambaka, drive through the plain of Thessaly and the valley of Tempi via Trikala and Larissa to Dion. En route admire also the gigantic figure of Mount Olympus, the highest mountain in Greece and home of the 12 Gods of Mythology. After arriving at the sacret Macedonia town, DION, the religious center of Macedonia  in ancient times where religious festivals and theatrical competitions were the norm as well as sacrifies to honor the gods were performed. We will visit the archeological site, then depart for Thessaloniki, the second largest and the most vibrant city in Greece and once the second most important city of the long-standing Byzantine Empire, still showing the signs of its former Byzantine past.Dinner and overnight in Thessaloniki. 4th day. Thessaloniki - Pella - Vergina - Lefkadia - Veria - Thessaloniki
Morning drive to PELLA, Alexander the Great's capital (visit). Continue to Vergina to visit the tomb of the King PHILIP and the famous ''Vergina Treasures''. Then on to LEFKADIA where you visit the excavationsto at the anceint site where Aristotle's school was located, where he taught Alexander and his fellow students . Return to THESSALONIKI via VERIA, the town knowns as "Little Jerusalem" due to its many religious buildings.
Return to Thessaloniki. The rest of the afternoon and evening is free to stroll around the lakeside promenades or enjoy the bustling of the city on your own. (Dinner and overnight) in Thessaloniki. (B.D.)

5th day: Thessaloniki - Thermopylae - Athens
Today we retunr to Athens driving via LARISSA, LAMIA, THERMOPYLAE  whre we will see the famouse Leonidas monumnet commemorating the famous ancient battle that took place there against the Persians in 480 BC. Continue via KAMENA VOURLA, to arrive in Athens late afternoon. (B)
